Ongoing Projects

1

Management of non-tuberculous mycobacterial pulmonary disease

This survey will help to highlight and understand the variation in clinical practice across Europe which can be used to inform how service providers including clinicians can be supported to manage patients with NTM-PD.

Dr. Heinke Kunst & Dr. Akanksha Mimi Malhotra

2

Evaluation of a patient diary to assess treatment outcome in patients with pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections

This prospective, multicenter, observational study aims to evaluate whether a simple and inexpensive patient diary can effectively monitor treatment response and detect potential treatment failure in patients with pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections.

Dr. Thomas Brehm & Prof. Christoph Lange

3

Survey on the use of therapeutic drug monitoring for treatment of nontuberculous mycobacterial infections
Victor Næstholt Dahl, Nicole Maranchick, Rob Aarnoutse, & Jakko van Ingen

With this survey, we aim to describe the use of TDM in the treatment of NTM disease and barriers to implementation globally.

4

A Prospective, Multicenter, Single-arm MAC-PD Cohort: a NTM-NET and ESGMYC Collaborative Study (MAC-PD cohort)
Arthur Lemson, Jakko van Ingen, and Wouter Hoefsloot

This study aims to gain insight in the effectiveness of, adherence and adjustments to guideline-based antimycobacterial therapy in patients with Mycobacterium avium complex pulmonary disease (MAC-PD) during the first 6 months of treatment.

5

Survey on the treatment of M. abscessus disease
Jakko van Ingen

Treatment of Mycobacterium abscessus disease is highly complex. For this highly drug-resistant mycobacterium very few active antibiotics exist and those few drugs are highly toxic and not universally available or affordable. This survey aims to study treatment preferences in health professionals involved in the therapy of M. abscessus disease.
